Senior Indian Police Service (IPC) officers Sumedha and Gagandeep Singla are among the seven officers who have been appointed as Deputy Inspector General in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). According to the order issued by the Personnel Ministry, Sumedha is a 2005 batch IPS officer of Himachal Pradesh cadre, who has been appointed as DIG in CBI for five years.
According to another order issued by the ministry, Singla is a 2010 batch Rajasthan cadre IPS officer and has also been appointed as DIG in the central agency for five years. According to the order, his appointment will be considered effective from January 12, 2024 and will be till January 11, 2029. He was named as Superintendent of Police in the Federal Investigation Agency in November last year. The other five IPS officers, who have been posted as DIGs in the central agency for different tenures by the Personnel Ministry through another order, include K Siva Subramani, Dhurat Sayali Sewlaram, P Murugan, Rajveer and Jal Singh Meena.
