New Delhi: Security at the Taj Mahal in Uttar Pradesh’s Agra has been heightened following Pakistan’s drone attacks on Thursday night.

The Taj Security Unit of the Agra Police has stepped up security measures in and around the Taj Mahal amid the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan. Earlier, a high alert had been sounded in the yellow zone of the Taj Mahal after the Operation Sindoor, in which India struck terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

The Taj Mahal is a UNESCO World Heritage site and draws thousands of tourists daily. Security measures have been intensified to prevent any untoward incidents.

Surveillance across the site has been intensified. Stringent checks on all vehicles entering and leaving the area. Security agencies are also carrying out checks on tourists staying in nearby hotels. Additional forces have been stationed at all security checkpoints. Authorities have asked to immediately respond to any suspicious activity, and tourists requested to cooperate with security personnel during their visit to the historical monument.
