New Delhi: In a heartwarming gesture, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi sent a set of valuable gifts to Mithun, a salon owner from Brijendra Nagar Mohalla in Lalganj, Rae Bareli district in Uttar Pradesh.
Mithun, who had the privilege of cutting Rahul Gandhi’s hair and beard during a visit, expressed his immense gratitude upon receiving the gifts.
Rahul Gandhi’s unexpected visit
Rahul Gandhi held a public meeting at Baiswara Inter College playground in Rae Bareli on May 13. After the meeting, he visited Mithun’s salon, where he got his beard trimmed and his hair cut.
This unexpected visit captured the attention of many and a video of the salon visit went viral on social media.

Following the visit, Mithun became a topic of discussion, not just for his unexpected client but also for his salon. To show appreciation for Mithun’s service, Rahul Gandhi sent a gift package through Congress workers. The package included a shampoo chair, two hair-cutting chairs and an inverter battery.
What salon owner said
Mithun was overjoyed upon receiving these gifts. He shared his excitement saying, “It is a big thing for me to have had such a prominent leader get his beard and hair cut in my salon. I never imagined I would have such an experience in my life. I am extremely thankful to Rahul Gandhi for these wonderful gifts.”
Aman Kumar, an employee at Mithun’s salon, witnessed a noticeable increase in the number of customers since Rahul Gandhi’s visit. He explained that previously, around ten people visited the salon daily, but now that number has risen to fifteen. “We have been receiving a lot of calls and interest since that day,” he added.
During the visit, Rahul Gandhi engaged in a friendly conversation with Mithun while getting his haircut. He inquired about the most popular hairstyle in the salon, who cuts Mithun’s hair, and the working hours of the salon. Mithun shared that he had previously worked in Mumbai before opening his own salon.
