New Delhi: After notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi publicly sent death threats to one of Bollywood’s biggest stars Salman Khan, several series of events have been escalating rapidly. Connected to Salman Khan’s 1998 Black Buck poaching case, the Bishnoi community still seems to have a vendetta against the superstar. For those unversed, Salman Khan was the main accused in the killing/hunting of a blackbuck, an animal that is sacred to the Bishnoi community.

Lawrence Bishnoi claimed enmity with Salman Khan over the case. He asked the actor to visit the Bishoi temple in Rajasthan and ask for forgiveness, otherwise, the consequences would lead to his end. Now, Jaipur’s Bishnoi community burned effigies of Salman Khan and his father Salim Khan. According to reports, the community was offended by Salim Khan’s ‘misleading’ statements regarding the controversial case.

For context, Salim Khan gave his opinion on the threats on the record and said that Salman did not kill any animal. He explained how Salman loves animals and would never kill them. The community took offence to such statements and declared that such misleading statements and should apologise for his crime.

On October 26, people from the Bishnoi community gathered to hold a protest against Salman and Salim Khan. The protestors claimed that they would not defame anyone without any reason. “When the case was registered 26 years ago, many dignitaries, including the then MLA of the Bishnoi community, were present,” said the group. They further added that the community was hurt by Salim Khan’s statements and will make sure that justice is delivered.

On the other side of the coin, Salman Khan’s fans have created a shield for the actor. A viral video shows a man, possibly a Salman Khan fan, threatening to kill Lawrence Bishnoi if something were to happen to Salman Khan.

The man in the video claimed to have nearly 5,000 shooters on call to kill the gangster if the actor was hurt. He further claims that he belongs to a gang and that Lawrence Bishnoi will not be able to escape death.
