New Delhi: The families of Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal, accused of firing outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s house, have written letters to the Home Ministry and Bihar Government and sought protection for them as they fear they could be eliminated by the henchmen of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.

Sonu Gupta, the brother of accused Vicky Gupta, had met him in jail when he told him that he and Sagar Pal had received death threats from some accused who are in the same jail. Sonu Gupta and Rahul Pal, brother of accused Sagar Pal, wrote letters to the Maharashtra DGP, Home Ministry, Jail Superintendent and Bihar Government demanding appropriate action in the matter. The copy of the letters is also with TV 9.

Both the accused hail from Majharia in Bihar’s West Champaran district. And that’s why the letters were also addressed to the Bihar Government. They are currently lodged at Taloja Central Prison.

The associates of Dawood Ibrahim’s gang are reportedly also imprisoned in the same jail and they are believed to be infuriated over the case of firing at Salman Khan’s house. And that’s why they have allegedly threatened to kill the brothers of both the accused. Apart from Home Ministry and Bihar Government, Sonu Gupta and Rahul Pal have sent the letters to Maharashtra DGP and Jail Superintendent calling for proper measures.

‘Chargesheet filed without proper procedure’

They have also alleged that the charge sheet has been filed without following any proper procedure and additional sections have also been added to the charge sheet. They have said that through the media, it has also come to their knowledge that the accused, Anuj Thapan, died under suspicious circumstances while in police custody during the investigation. This has created fear in their minds, they added.

The letter also claims that Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal are good persons and their families are dependent on them. It added that they are concerned about the accused safety in jail and requested the authorities to take necessary action in the matter.

It was on April 14 that two bike-borne men opened fire outside Salman Khan’s residence in Bandra area. The shooters – Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal — were arrested from Gujarat.
