New Delhi: Over 13 lakh employees may not get their salaries this month if they don’t give details of their movable and immovable properties on a government portal — Manav Sampada. The deadline to declare all such assets in August 31.
The Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh had issued an order regarding this. However, till now only 26 percent of the employees have given information about their movable and immovable properties. Those who do not comply with the order will also be denied promotions, the order added.
The earlier deadline to comply with the order – which was issued in August last year — was December 31.
Currently, there are 17 lakh 88 thousand 429 government employees in Uttar Pradesh. Out of these, only 26 percent i.e. 4,64,991 employees have furnished the details of their assets online. The remaining 13,23,438 have not shared the information till now. In such a situation, their salary is at risk.
After IAS and PCS working in the state government, now it has become mandatory for all categories of officers and employees to give online details of movable and immovable assets.
Principal Secretary of Personnel Department M Devraj has sent the order issued by the Chief Secretary to all Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, Secretaries as well as Department Heads and Office Heads. As per the order, the employees who fail to give out these details will not be considered for promotions.
The state government has claimed that the move “enhances transparency and accountability”. “This step is aimed to boost transparency and accountability within the government. We have a zero tolerance policy towards corruption under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” said Minister Danish Azad Ansari.
