Rs 25 lakh contract to kill Salman Khan, AK-47 from Pakistan: Police chargesheet

New Delhi: A chargesheet submitted by the Navi Mumbai Police stated that a contract of Rs 25 lakh was taken out to kill Bollywood actor Salman Khan near his farmhouse in Panvel, Maharashtra, as per an NDTV report.

The chargesheet has named five people. The police said that the contract was arranged by the gangster Lawrence Bishnoi-led gang. It stated that the accused were planning to purchase sophisticated weapons, including AK-47s, AK-92s, and M-16s from Pakistan, and the Turkish-made Zigana weapon, which was used in the murdering Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. Boys below the age of 18 were hired by the accused to gun down Salman Khan. They were hiding in Pune, Navi Mumbai, Raigad, Thane and Gujarat.

Around 60-70 people were keeping tabs on the actor’s movement, at his house in Bandra, farmhouse in Panvel and Goregaon Film City. The murder plot was hatched between August 2023 and April 2024, the chargesheet stated.

According to probe, Sukkha, who was nabbed from Haryana’s Panipat on Thursday, assigned the hit to the designated shooter Ajay Kashyap, also called AK, along with four others involved in the conspiracy. After a recce by Kashyap and his team, it was concluded that as the actor had tight security cover and bulletproof vehicles, advanced weapons would be needed to execute the killing.

Sukkha reached out to Pakistan arms dealer

Sukkha got in touch with Pakistan-based arms dealer Dogar through video call, and negotiated the terms of the arms deal. Dogar agreed to supply the weapons, while Sukkha gave his nod to make a 50 percent advance payment and the balance upon delivery in India, the chargesheet added. All the shooters were looking to get an approval from Canada-based gangster Goldie Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother Anmol Bishnoi.

According to the chargesheet, there was a plan chalked out by the shooters to meet in Kanyakumari after carrying out the murder of the actor. From Kanyakumari, they planned to travel to Sri Lanka by boat before proceeding to a country where Indian investigative agencies could not arrest them.

The scheme to target Salman Khan at his Panvel farmhouse was busted when the cops were probing the firing incident outside his house in Bandra a few months back.
