Rishi Sunak visits Bengaluru’s Raghvendra Swamy Mutt with his wife and in-laws

Bengaluru: Rishi Sunak, former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, visited Bengaluru’s Raghvendra Swamy Mutt, situated in Jayanagar with his wife Akshata Murthy. The couple visited the temple as the current Kartika masa is believed to be an auspicious month.

Sunak’s in-laws, NR Narayana Murthy and Sudha Murthy also accompanied him during the visit. In the video of the temple, all of them can be seen following the rituals of the temple and participating in pooja.

Sunak opens up on his belief in Hinduism

Rishi Sunak has visited several temples of India in the past. He has been quite vocal about his religious belief in Hinduism and his Indian roots. He talked about this in January this year when he visited London’s iconic BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir, also known as Neasden Temple. Taking to the press, Sunak stated, “I am Hindu, and like all of you, I draw inspiration and comfort from my faith. I was proud to be sworn in as a member of Parliament on the ‘Bhagavad Gita’. Our faith teaches us to do our duty and not fret about the outcome as long as one does it faithfully.”
