Kolkata: At Greater Noida’s Supertech Eco Village 1, chaos and violence erupted after residents were allegedly assaulted by security personnel and maintenance staff. The residents reportedly urged them to restore the electricity supply in the society, and the security personnel and maintenance staff replied by beating them with sticks and batons.

According to videos, on the evening of June 26, the perpetrators kicked and punched the residents and also thrashed them with batons. Reportedly, the housing society was without a power supply for several months which forced the residents to approach the security office for a solution. It was reportedly a peaceful complaint, but then the situation turned violent as security guards and onsite maintenance staff began to assault the residents.
