The High Court had on October 30 granted six-week interim bail to Darshan on medical grounds to undergo spine surgery at a hospital of his choice. It had directed him to submit a report on his health condition, required treatment and follow-up treatment to the court within a week.

“The process is on and at the earliest we will file an appeal in the Supreme Court,” Bengaluru Police Commissioner told reporters in response to a question, news agency PTI reported.

What did Darshan submit before High Court?

The counsel representing Darshan, while urging the High Court for permission for his surgery to be performed at a private hospital in Mysuru, had submitted that he was experiencing numbness in both feet. The prosecution opposed Darshan’s plea for interim bail and had submitted that his surgery could be performed at a government hospital.

Besides Darshan, his friend Pavithra Gowda and 15 others are also accused in the murder case of 33-year-old Renukaswamy, who is said to be a fan of the actor.

Renukaswamy allegedly made derogatory comments against Pavithra, Darshan’s friend, on social media, which allegedly enraged Darshan and this led to his murder. The Bengaluru Police on September 4 filed a 3,991-page preliminary charge sheet in the murder case in a Bengaluru court.

As per the police, Pavithra, who is accused number one in the Renukaswamy murder case, was the “major cause” for the murder, claiming that the investigation into the case has proved that Pavithra instigated other accused, conspired with them, and took part in the crime.
