Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami described it as a “blessed moment” for the people of Uttarakhand. The divine idol of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya was adorned with a ‘shubhvastram’ featuring Uttarakhand’s famous Aipan art, symbolizing the deep faith of the people in Lord Ram. This special garment was crafted by skilled artisans from Uttarakhand. Dhami, who personally delivered the ‘shubhvastram’ to the temple authorities, expressed his pride in a post on X, highlighting how this event marks a significant moment for the state’s cultural heritage.

Rich cultural heritage and traditional arts of Uttarakhand is getting a new identity

An official release on Tuesday emphasized that this event not only brings a new identity to Uttarakhand’s rich cultural heritage and traditional arts but also inspires future generations to embrace and celebrate it. Aipan, a folk art native to the Kumaon region, is gaining national recognition through this event. CM Dhami said in a post on X that he himself had gone to Ayodhya to deliver the ‘shubh vastram’ to the temple authorities.
