Rajpal Singh Yadav, Akhilesh Yadav’s uncle and SP leader, dies in Gurugram

Lucknow: Rajpal Singh Yadav, brother of Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav and uncle of Akhilesh Yadav, passed away on Thursday at a hospital in Gurugram.

Rajpal Yadav was admitted to the Medanta Hospital a few days ago due to a prolonged illness. He breathed his last at around 4 am on Thursday.

His final rites will be performed in his ancestral village of Saifai. Yadav had been battling illness for quite some time, leading to his hospitalisation in Gurugram. Despite receiving treatment, he succumbed to his condition on Thursday morning.

The news of his passing has left the entire Samajwadi Party family in mourning. Since the announcement, people thronged the leader’s residence in UP’s Etawah to pay their last respects.

Yadav’s mortal remains will be transported from Gurugram to Saifai later in the day and the body will be kept for some time to allow people to pay their final respects. Upon hearing the news, Samajwadi Party leaders, including Akhilesh Yadav, have started arriving in Etawah to join the family in this time of grief.
