Raj Pakala faces charges as police raid unlicensed rave party at Telangana farmhouse

Hyderabad: In a late-night raid on the intervening night of October 26 and 27, Narsingi Police, SOT, and Excise officials targeted a farmhouse in Janwada under the jurisdiction of Mokila Police Station, following information about a rave party.

The raid uncovered 35 attendees—21 men and 14 women—participating in a party where unauthorized liquor was being served. Authorities discovered seven bottles of foreign liquor totaling 10.5 liters and ten loose Indian liquor bottles. The organizers lacked an excise license for the alcohol, in violation of excise laws.

One test positive for cocaine

During the raid, officers used drug-testing kits on male attendees, revealing that one attendee, Vijay Madduri, tested positive for cocaine. He was later taken to the hospital for further testing, and a case was filed against him under Section 27 of the NDPS Act at Mokila Police Station.

The farmhouse belongs to Raj Pakala, brother-in-law of former Telangana minister K T Rama Rao (KTR), who hosted the event. Due to the absence of an excise license for the liquor served, Pakala faces charges under Sections 34(A) and 34(1) read with Section 9 of the Excise Act, registered by the State Excise Task Force.

Both the illegal substance use and unlicensed liquor service are under investigation, with further actions pending.
