Liverpool had to dig deep to overcome a one-goal deficit and secure a 2-1 victory over Brighton in a high-energy clash at Anfield. Ferdi Kadioglu put the visitors ahead with a stunning long-range strike, a deserved lead following a strong opening spell by Brighton. Danny Welbeck went close with a couple of freekicks but Brighton couldn’t extend their lead in the first half. Liverpool ramped up the intensity, coming close through Nunez and Salah but entered the break still trailing.

The Reds’ persistence bore fruit in the second half as Cody Gakpo’s cross sneaked in to level the score at 1-1. Just minutes later, Curtis Jones set up Mo Salah’s curled a spectacular effort into the far corner to seal Liverpool’s comeback, moving them to the top of the Premier League as other contenders faltered. While this wasn’t a convincing display from the Reds, it was enough to see them bounce back from last weekend’s draw with Arsenal.

Bournemouth pulled off a significant upset, defeating defending champions Manchester City 2-1 at the Vitality Stadium. This was an iconic win for the Cherries as this win marks their first ever win against the Cityzens in 22 attempts. Antoine Semenyo put the hosts in front early, capitalizing on a loose ball in the box. City’s response was lackluster, with Ederson required to keep them in the game and City struggling to gain control against a resilient Cherries side. The visitors were left frustrated for the majority of the half as Andoni Iraola’s men held on to their lead till half-time.

Evanilson’s recent return to form continued against the defending champions and his tap-in after the hour mark doubled Bournemouth’s lead. Despite a late header from Josko Gvardiol that pulled things back for the Cityzens, and two big missed chances by Erling Haaland, the hosts held firm. It was a famous win for Bournemouth, their third against a big six opposition, who resisted intense late pressure from City to secure all three points and inflict a rare defeat on Guardiola’s men.

Ipswich’s hunt for a first league win this season nearly ended as Leif Davis put them ahead with a fantastic volley ten minutes into the second half. They dominated the second half but were reduced to ten men when Kalvin Phillips received a second yellow card, increasing the pressure on the hosts to defend their lead. After going down to 10 men, it became extremely difficult for the Tractor Boys to hold on to their lead given Leicester’s bombardment.

Jordan Ayew’s stoppage-time equalizer denied Ipswich a long-awaited victory, striking at the death to rescue a point for Leicester. Leicester’s persistent pressure paid off as Ipswich’s defense finally cracked, leaving McKenna’s side still searching for that elusive win. While Ipswich remain winless after the first 10 games of the season, credit must be given to McKenna for getting performances out of his side, if not results.

Southampton’s players finally relieved pressure on their boss Russell Martin as they edged past Everton to record their first win of the season. In a tight early season relegation battle decider, Adam Armstrong’s late goal was enough for the Saints to record their first three points. Southampton dominated possession throughout, but struggled to break down a compact Everton defense until Armstrong’s late left-footed strike secured the win.

Everton thought they had rescued a point in the final moments when their striker, Beto scored, only for VAR to disallow it for offside. Southampton celebrated a hard-fought victory at St. Mary’s, offering much-needed relief as they finally claimed their first three points. This win has momentarily lifted them off the foot of the table and Martin would look to build on what they achieved at home tonight.

Nottingham Forest continued their excellent start to the season with a commanding 3-0 win over West Ham. Chris Wood, once again opened the scoring with a close-range header from an Alex Moreno cross, and the game swung further in Forest’s favor when Edson Alvarez was sent off for a second yellow card just before halftime. Forest had been playing exceptionally well this season and a lacklustre Hammers side were no match for Nuno’s men.

With a man advantage, Forest capitalized as Callum Hudson-Odoi curled in a beautiful strike past the Hammers keeper to make it 2-0, effectively putting the match out of reach. Another former Chelsea academy product was on the scoresheet for the Garibaldi as Ola Aina’s low drive added the finishing touches to a dominant performance, leaving West Ham reeling and Lopetegui’s future at the club under scrutiny.
