New Delhi: A massive political row has broken out over Indian Railways tickets featuring ‘Operation Sindoor’ with a photo of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. India launched ‘Operation Sindoor’ to dismantle the terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). It was a strong response of Indian armed forces to the May 22 Pahalgam terror attack.
Taking strong exception to PM Modi photo alongside ‘Operation Sindoor’, the Congress has accused the BJP-led government of exploiting the military operation to gain political edge ahead of the Bihar assembly elections.
Taking to X, the Congress said: “Operation Sindoor’ was India’s strong response against terrorism — a tale of the bravery and valour of our courageous soldiers. Yet, the Modi government is not refraining from using even such sensitive issues for publicity.”
The Congress also posted a video saying that for the Modi government, every sensitive issue is an opportunity for publicity for the party and the PM. It alleged that in the past too, Narendra Modi’s photo had appeared on COVID vaccine certificates, fertiliser sacks, grain bags, and schoolchildren’s backpacks. “This is deeply shameful,” the post added.

Earlier, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MP Kunwar Danish Ali had also taken to social media to hit out at the advertisement on the train ticket.
He wrote on X: “Prime Minister Narendra Modi sees war and martyrdom as opportunities. While innocent civilians bled and brave soldiers risked everything to counter Pakistan, a new poster was launched. No names or faces of the martyrs — just Modi’s image and promotion. Is this not the height of self-obsession?”
