Police on Tuesday recovered a large quantity of intoxicating substance hashish from a passenger bus from Dhanha police station area of West Champaran district of Bihar. One person has also been arrested in this case. Bagaha Superintendent of Police Sushant Kumar Saroj said that the police had received secret information that a large consignment of narcotics was going from Nepal to Uttar Pradesh via Bihar in a passenger bus. On the basis of this information, a special team was formed and investigation operation was started near Ratwal check post of Dhanha police station. During the search operation, about 35 kg of hashish was recovered from a passenger traveling in Raj Travels (a passenger bus).
Saroj said that the value of the recovered drugs is estimated to be around Rs 7 crore. A smuggler has been arrested in this case, who has been identified as Ritesh Patel, resident of Sikta, Bettiah. The arrested youth was wearing a bag-shaped cloth all over his body, in which hashish was hidden.
