PM Modi speaks to Iran president, calls for ‘immediate de-escalation, dialogue and diplomacy’

New Delhi: A few hours after the United States launched attacks on Iran’s underground nuclear sites, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian on Sunday. During the conversation, he urged for “immediate de-escalation, dialogue and diplomacy” and shared his serious concern over the recent rise in tensions.

“Spoke with President of Iran @drpezeshkian. We discussed in detail about the current situation. Expressed deep concern at the recent escalations. Reiterated our call for immediate de-escalation, dialogue and diplomacy as the way forward and for early restoration of regional peace, security and stability,” PM Modi wrote on X.
