New Delhi: Prime Minister Modi chaired a high-level meeting with Secretaries of different ministries and Departments under the Government of India to review national security preparedness. In the meeting, the PM underscored the need for smooth coordination between the ministries and agencies amidst rising tensions with the neighbouring country.
PM inspected the planning and readiness of different ministries to deal with a challenging situation. He urged them to uphold operational continuity and institutional resilience at this crucial time.
PM instructed the Secretaries to meticulously review the operations in their respective ministries. He asked them to ensure essential systems function flawlessly, along with maintaining readiness, emergency response and internal communication.
During the meeting, the Secretaries briefed the PM on the details of their plans and approaches. The ministries have identified their responsibilities and are strengthening their processes in view of the conflict. The secretaries told the PM that the ministries are ready to deal with all types of emerging situations.
Many issues were discussed in the meeting, including strengthening civil defence mechanisms, ways of countering misinformation and fake news, and protection of essential infrastructure. The Ministries were urged to maintain proper coordination with state authorities and other ground-level institutions.
The meeting was attended by the Cabinet Secretary, senior officials from the PMO and Secretaries from all key ministries, including Defence, Home Affairs, External Affairs, Information and Broadcasting, Power, Health, and Telecommunications.
