New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and three services chiefs soon after the ceasefire was announced between India and Pakistan on Saturday evening. Earlier, India launched Operation Sindoor against Pakistani terrorist groups after 26 people were killed and several others were injured in a terror attack on April 22.
Since last few days after Pahalgam terror attack, PM Modi has been holding a series of meetings with his ministers and top officials. He also constantly monitored the situation ever since India launched Operation Sindoor against Pakistani terror groups LeT, JeM, and HM on May 7.

India had targeted as many as nine locations of above said terror groups. After the attack, LeT chief Hafiz Saeed had also claimed that 10 of his family members had been killed in the drone attack launched by India.
Addressing a press conference this evening shortly after US President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire between two countries, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said that both countries agreed to stop military operations along the borders at 5 pm today, following a discussion between the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMO) of both countries.
Releasing a statement earlier, US President Donald Trump said, “After a long night of talks mediated by the United States, I am pleased to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed to a FULL AND IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE. Congratulations to both Countries on using Common Sense and Great Intelligence. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
“Over the past 48 hours, VP Vance and I have engaged with senior Indian and Pakistani officials, including Prime Ministers Narendra Modi and Shehbaz Sharif, External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir, and National Security Advisors Ajit Doval and Asim Malik,” wrote Secretary of States Marco Rubio.
