New Delhi: New photos of Renukaswamy, who was allegedly killed at the behest of Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa in June, moments before his death have surfaced.
In one of the photos, the 33-year-old auto driver can be seen pleading for mercy during his assault. He looks scared and is seen crying. In another photo, Renukaswamy lies on the floor after being thrashed. In both the photos, Renukaswamy is shirtless. An injury mark is also visible on his body.
The body of Renukaswamy was recovered near a flyover in Bengaluru on June 9.
The fresh photos have emerged following chargesheet filed by the Karnataka Police in the kidnap and murder case of Renukaswamy. The police have mentioned details of the torture and murder of Renukaswamy and the involvement of Darshan in the crime.
“After being thrashed, Renukaswamy’s chest bones were broken. As many as 39 injury marks are there all over his body. A deep cut on the victim’s head is also visible,” the chargesheet said.
The post-mortem report says that Renukaswamy was assaulted with wooden clubs and he died “due to shock and haemorrhage as a result of multiple blunt injuries sustained”. The report also suggested that Renukaswamy had his testicle ruptured because he was kicked and given electric shocks.
Police said the 33-year-old, a Darshan fan, was kidnapped and killed by a gang after he allegedly sent some offensive messages on social media to actor Pavithra Gowda, who is rumoured to be the partner of Darshan.
As many as 15 people have been arrested for the murder, including Darshan and Pavithra. The judicial custody of Darshan is to end on September 9.
