New Delhi: The Press Information Bureau has launched a microsite on Operation Sindoor, India’s counter-offensive against Pakistan-based terror organisations. The dedicated platform aims to serve as a central hub for verified updates, official statements, and a comprehensive archive of fact-checks debunking the wave of misinformation that has emerged in the wake of the operation.

The move comes amid heightened tensions following the Pahalgam terror attack, which triggered a strong military and diplomatic response from India. Since the launch of Operation Sindoor, social media platforms have witnessed a surge in unverified visuals, doctored videos, and false claims — many of which, according to officials, are part of a coordinated disinformation campaign originating from Pakistan.

The microsite, developed by PIB’s Fact Check Unit, catalogues each instance of viral misinformation that has been investigated and debunked. The fact-check was important amid a wave of misinformation that was traced back to Pakistan-based social media handles, aiming to distort facts, incite panic, and undermine national morale.
