Patna: Preparations are going on at full swing to give Patnaites the gift of “Metro” on the occasion of independence day i.e. 15th August.
The metro project would not only make the travel smooth and easier but would also help in checking and regulating the traffic problem of the city. Not only this, the gift of metro would provide employment opportunities to local youths. The project will lay the foundation for speedy development of Patna in future.
Construction agencies are working day & night in two shifts to start the operation of metro train service in the state capital.
The work for laying 6.2 km long track for Patna Metro’ primary corridor has been completed between Malahi Pakri and New ISBT. There are a total of five stations in primary corridor which includes- Malahi Pakri, Khemnichak, Bhootnath, Zeromile and New ISBT. The metro service will initially start between four stations except Khemnichak station. The work on installing automated fare collection machine, platform screen door, escalator and gate system is in its final stage.
Safety standards are being strictly maintained in the construction of metro project. The work has almost been completed for construction of washing and pit maintenance of metro depot, control room, power sub-station, workshop shed, inspection shed and track unit.
The work for laying 6.2 km long track on primary corridor has been completed and now the final touches are being given to metro stations besides completing other works which are in final stages too.
A target has been fixed to start the operation of metro service on August 15, 2025. A rack of three bogies has reached Patna from Pune. Construction agencies are working day and night to complete the preparations for carrying out trial run of metro service, soon.
