Parliament Winter Session Live: The winter session of Parliament has started. Among the key items up for consideration is the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, which requires a joint committee report by the end of the first week. The maritime sector is also a focal point, with the introduction of the Merchant Shipping Bill, the Coastal Shipping Bill and the Indian Ports Bill, all aimed at modernising India’s maritime infrastructure and ensuring compliance with international treaties.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his expectations for the winter session of Parliament, saying that it is a special session in many ways, particularly as India enters the 75th year of its Constitution’s journey. He mentioned the importance of healthy discussions and encouraged more people to contribute to the conversations.
