Paris Olympics gold medal winning boxer Imane Khelif is a man, claims leaked report

New Delhi: Imane Khelif, the Algerian boxer who was embroiled in controversy during the Paris Olympics 2024 for showcasing male characteristics and partaking in the women’s category, is yet again under the scanner. A leaked medical report has raised pertinent questions about Khelif’s gender identity, which ignited worldwide debates a few months back. Khelif claimed gold in women’s boxing at the Paris Olympics 2024.

In a shocking turn of events, French journalist Djaffar Ait Aoudia has obtained a document that claims that Khelif has XY chromosomes, internal testicles, and even a micropenis, suggesting a condition known as 5-alpha reductase deficiency. The report was drafted in June 2023 by the experts of Kremlin-Bicêtre Hospital of Paris and Algiers’ Mohamed Lamine Debaghine Hospital.

The report clearly details Khelif’s biological characteristics, including the uterus’ absence and the presence of internal testicles. An MRI report further highlights the existence of a micropenis. However, it is noteworthy that there’s nothing new to this report as it already came into light a few months back, making the same claim of Khelif having XY chromosomes because of which the boxer was banned by the International Boxing Association (IBA) before the World Championship Gold Medal match in New Delhi in 2023.
