New Delhi: The Border Security Force (BSF) has apprehended a Pakistani Ranger along the India-Pakistan international border in Rajasthan on Saturday, news agency PTI reported citing sources. The incident comes amid heightened tensions between the two nations following a deadly terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam, which claimed 26 lives, mostly tourists.
The Pakistani Ranger is currently in the custody of the BSF’s Rajasthan frontier. The incident came after the earlier apprehension of BSF jawan Purnam Kumar Shaw by Pakistani Rangers on April 23 along the Punjab border. Despite strong protests by Indian authorities, Pakistan has refused to repatriate the BSF soldier.
