Shimla: Amid tensions between India and Pakistan after the Pahalgam terror attack, ex-Union minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Anurag Thakur slammed Islamabad on Monday for “fomenting troubles”. He warned that Pakistan would be wiped out if it continue terror operations against India.
Addressing a BJP rally organised at Gandhi Chowk in Shimla, he added that Centre already made it clear that befitting reply would be given. The event was organised to protest against the killing of 26 people in Pahalgam by terrorists on April 22.
BJP leaders submit memorandum to Shimla Deputy Commissioner
Meanwhile, BJP leaders also submitted a memorandum to Shimla Deputy Commissioner, urging him identify Pakistanis living in the city both legally and and illegally and ensure they are sent back. They also also took out a protest march in the Lower Bazaar area raising anti-Pakistan slogans, news agency PTI reported. The party further said that if the state government do not ensure that Pakistanis are sent back then the BJP would start ‘Jagaran Abhiyan’ in next few days.
It may be noted that due to the terror attack, India hastaken a number of steps against Pakistan including cancelling vis of Pakistanis visiting India and sending them back . Apart from this, India also suspended Indus water treaty and reduced its staff strength in its embassy in Pakistan. Islamabad too responded by suspending Simla treaty. Apart from these both countries also banned airspace for each other’s airlines. India has not only banned anumber of social media accounts of Pakistani sportsmen, celebrities and politicians including of shehbaz Sharif’s YouTube channel. India has also banned mails from Pakistan and also banned imports from the neighbouring country.
