New Delhi: Pakistan resorted to unprovoked firing for the ninth successive day on Saturday across Line of Control (LoC) amid ongoing tensions with India. The firing was reported in Kupwara, Uri, and Akhnoor areas of Jammu and Kashmir. The Indian Army responded promptly and gave befitting reply to the Pakistani firing.

Issuing a statement, the Indian Army said, “During the night of 02-03 May 2025, the Pakistan Army resorted to unprovoked small-arms fire across the Line of Control opposite the Kupwara, Uri, and Akhnoor areas of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The Indian Army responded promptly and proportionately.”

The Pakistani forces have resorted to firing in recent days across the LoC, as tensions increased between both countries after April 22 Pahalgam attack in which 26 people were killed and several others were injured. Following the development tensions have increased between both sides.
