New Delhi: India has shared several videos showing its military targeting terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) early Wednesday morning. Reports say that around 70 terrorists were killed in these strikes. Under Operation Sindoor, nine camps linked to terrorist groups like Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), and Hizbul Mujahideen were hit. This action was taken in response to the deadly attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22.
India launched the strike on Pakistan around 1:04 am and the operation lasted till 1:30 am. One of the first locations targeted was the Markaz Abbas camp in Kotli, PoK. According to the Army, this was a major center where suicide bombers from LeT were trained. Over 50 terrorists were believed to have been trained there.

Another video shows the Gulpur camp in Kotli being destroyed. This base, about 30 km from the Line of Control (LoC), was linked to attacks in April 2023 in Poonch (where five soldiers died) and in June 2024 when a pilgrim bus was attacked, killing nine people.
The Army also struck the Sarjal camp in Sialkot, which is about 6 km from the international border. Officials say terrorists who attacked and killed four police officers in Jammu and Kashmir in March had trained at this location.

Other targets included JeM’s base in Bahawalpur and LeT’s base in Muridke, both in Pakistan’s Punjab region. Bahawalpur, located 100 km from the border, was often visited by top terrorist leaders. Muridke was where Ajmal Kasab, one of the attackers behind the 2008 Mumbai terror attack, trained. David Headley, who helped plan that attack, also visited this place.
Another camp that was destroyed was the Mahmoona Jaya camp in Sialkot, located 12–18 km from the international border. This place was linked to Hizbul Mujahideen and was said to be the main center for planning attacks in the Kathua-Jammu region.

Speaking at a press briefing about Operation Sindoor, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, along with Col Sofiya Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, said that the operation was necessary to bring the attackers of the Pahalgam incident to justice, where 26 people lost their lives.
Misri explained that the Indian action was “careful, balanced, and limited” and focused only on terror camps and those planning future attacks. He also said that even after two weeks, Pakistan had not taken any steps to stop terror activities on its land or in PoK. Instead, it had denied the facts and made false claims.
He further mentioned that Indian intelligence had warned of more possible attacks from Pakistan-based terrorist groups. So, the operation was also meant to stop those attacks before they could happen.
