Omar Abdullah sworn in as first CM of Jammu and Kashmir after Article 370 abrogation

Jammu and Kashmir: National Conference MLAs to meet tomorrow to elect new legislature party leader

Srinagar: Omar Abdullah took oath as the first Chief Minister of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir after the Abrogation of Article 370 in 2019. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha administered the oath of office and secrecy to Abdullah, whose National Conference emerged as the single largest party in the assembly elections last week.

Top leaders from the INDIA bloc, including Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha are attending the oath ceremony at the Sher-e-Kashmir Convention Centre in Srinagar.

Gandhi, along with his sister Priyanka Gandhi and party president Mallikarjun Kharge, arrived this morning to represent the Congress national leadership at the ceremony.
