No transplants or drugs: How Bryan Johnson reversed hair loss, greying with nutrition

New Delhi: 46-year-old tech millionaire Bryan Johnson a pioneer in anti-ageing research has undergone an impressive transformation and it seems he has reversed male pattern baldness and even greying in less than a year, that too without transplants or drugs. Johnson took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce that he reversed hair loss with a comprehensive nutrition regimen. He also encouraged men to take proactive steps to save their hair and maintain a lush look in their 40s and even after.

”Genetically, I should be bald. I started to lose my hair and go gray in my late 20s. Now, at 47, I’ve got a full head of hair and ~70% of my gray is gone. Here how I did it,” he posted on X with a before-and-after picture.

Johnson also revealed that his hair regeneration is credited to a multi-factorial approach. For this, he chose vitamins and minerals like proteins and omega-3 fats to restore hair. Along with this, he created a topical formula including melatonin, vitamin D3, and caffeine along with a red light therapy in the daily routine to get his hair back. Another important part of the routine was oral minoxidil, a topical drug for hair loss that is largely considered safe in low doses. However, in excess, it can trigger side effects like headaches and excessive hair growth.

Johnson concluded his post by writing,”A final note that I’m in touch with several companies that are building novel hair regrowth therapies. They are promising and exciting. They’re still years out but it’s cool to think that hair loss may no longer be a thing we have to think about. Just one reason why the future is going to be amazing.”

4. Red light therapy:

Six minutes a day and you can be doing your morning routine as you wear it. A study on 44 males (age 18-49) showed that treatment with 655nm laser cap for 25 min every other day for a duration of 16 weeks resulted in a 39% increase in hair growth compared… pic.twitter.com/Rv0cFaNWtj

Additionally, the entrepreneur spent $2 million on a year of treatment and diagnostics with a regimen that included sleeping, eating, and exercising to evaluate if a slow approach could help reverse the side effect of ageing. He also revealed that he underwent a complete plasma exchange to remove toxins from his body.
