NIA raids Bambiha gang linked syndicate in Punjab, Haryana, UP; arms & drugs seized

New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has conducted raids on Bambiha gang linked syndicate across Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab. Davinder Bambiha from Moga district of Punjab was killed in an encounter with police in 2016. However, his gang is still operates in several states.

The raids were conducted at nine locations on Wednesday in the states of Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. Searches were conducted by NIA teams in Palwal, Faridabad and Gurugram districts of Haryana, Jalandhar in Punjab, and Mathura in Uttar Pradesh.

The NIA officials have also seized mobiles phones, digital devices, banking transactions and property related documents during the searches. The raids come as part of NIA crackdown against terrorist linked gangs involved in smuggling arms, ammunition, narcotics, explosives into India.

The NIA raids comes following directions of Home Ministry. The raids by anti-terror agency shows large-scale attempts by these organisations and terrorists to raise funds to carry out acts of terror on the Indian soil.
