Kolkata: Mumbai is receiving torrential rainfall and as per reports, the entire area in Bakery Galli in Bhayandar West has been submerged by rainwater. An Orange Alert has been issued for Mumbai, Palghar and Thane for June 16 while a Red Alert has been issued for Raigad district.
The rainfall has been so intense that water has entered houses and shops, compounding the problems that common people are already facing due to the monsoon. Like every other year, this time too the bakery alley of Bhayandar West has been flooded with rain water.
This is the scene of every year in that place, where the entire street is filled with rainwater after a heavy downpour. Those who are living in Bakery Galli are forced to live in fear every day when the rain comes as the water enters their house after a few heavy downpours.
According to the citizens, they reportedly plead with the government every year to get rid of this problem. However, to date, they have not been able to get rid of this problem. The Municipal Corporation has installed motor pumps to pump out the water that accumulates in the alleys. But despite this, the bakery alleys remain underwater every year during monsoon.
Today, Mumbai and its surrounding districts are experiencing heavy monsoon rains. A high tide of 4.21 meters raised in the Arabian Sea and as a result, high waves took place in the sea. However, the Juhu Beach has not been banned due to that and the Mumbai Police officials are continuously appealing to people to come to the beach.
