Dehradun: Ahead of the national games 2025, sportsmen of the hill state will be given tips about “sports science”. State’s sports department will organize a sports science camp. Experts and coaches will give training to the sportsmen.
Uttarakhand will host the National Games 2025. The hill state has also expressed its desire to host the National Winter Games next year.
Special camps to be held after Deepawali
Speaking to reporters, special secretary Amit Sinha said attempts are being made to organize the special camps after the end of Deepawali festival. He added players would be selected for this purpose very soon.
Sports camp in two phases
As per the plan, the sports department may organize the camp in two phases. There will be a trial after holding the first camp, special sports secretary Sinha mentioned. Then, a list will be prepared containing the names of the selected players. Just before the beginning of the National Games 2025, the second camp will be organized for the selected players.
Sports science camp important for local players
Sports Science camp is a very important part of the state government’s preparation for hosting the National Games 2025. The idea to hold sports camps will be helpful for the local players to improve their performance.
Experts from the field of sports to be invited
Experts from the field of sports will be invited to give tips to the players of the hill state. The main behind holding the sports camp is to make the players aware about the tricks of various games. Sports associations, who are active in the state, are contributing in their own way to prepare the players for their participation in the National Games 2025.
10,000 players, athletes, officials, and coaches to participate
Special Secretary Amit Sinha said around 10,000 players, athletes, officials and coaches from various states and Union Territories will participate in the National Games 2025. Preparations are underway for making logistic and food arrangements for the players who will come to Uttarakhand for their participation in the National Games 2025. The sports department may invite tenders for this purpose after the end of Deepawali festival.
IOA to decide the number of sports
The number of sports will be decided by the Indian Olympic Association (IOA). The National Games 2025, which is a prestigious event, will feature medal competition in 38 sports. Medal competition in 34 sports may be held in Uttarakhand.
Preparations are in full swing
The preparation for hosting the National Games is in full swing in the hill state. “Sports department is giving final shape to its preparation for hosting the National games 2025,” Special Secretary, sports department, said. The National Games may begin from January 28, 2025.
