Mumbai: Two international schools in Mumbai received a bomb threat on Monday morning. The schools which received the threat include Kanakia International School and Ryan International School, police said.
Threat on email: Police
The Mumbai Police said that the 2 schools received the bomb threat through emails. As soon as the emails were discovered, panic spread across the school and also Mumbai city.
According to a report in ABP, the emails threatened a bomb blast in the schools and also across different locations in Mumbai. The Mumbai Police immediately launched a search operation. However, so far no suspicious items have been recovered from any of the 2 schools.
The police have registered an FIR in the matter and also launched a manhunt to arrest the sender of the 2 emails. The FIRs have been registered at the Deonar and Samta Nagar police stations against unidentified individuals. Investigations are going on in the matter and police hope to get a breakthrough soon.
The threat mails to schools in Mumbai, remind one of a similar incident reported from Delhi. In December 2024, several schools across Delhi received threat mails, regarding the presence of bombs on their campus. Investigations however revealed that the threat was a hoax. A similar matter was reported again in February 2025, where schools in both Noida and Delhi received bomb threats. Apart from the school, the prestigious St Stephen’s College in Delhi had also received a similar threat at that time.
