Pune: Sumit Bhagwat Gutte, the 24-year-old grandson of MLA Ratnakar Gutte, has been reported missing since January 1. A complaint regarding his disappearance has been lodged at the Pimpri-Chinchwad police station.  According to the family, Sumit left his home at 9 am on January 1.

He informed them that he was heading to Jupiter Hospital for a job interview. He said he would return in two hours, but he did not come back. The family’s last contact with him was during a phone call at 3:03 pm on the same day, after which his phone was switched off.

I am in deep grief: Gutte

Reacting to the incident, MLA Ratnakar Gutte was distressed. “My grandson is missing, and I am in deep grief. Due to this situation, I was unable to attend the Aakresh Morcha held in Parbhani. I have informed Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis about the matter,” Gutte said.

Sumit’s mother, who is Gutte’s niece, also tried to reach him after his disappearance but could not get through as his phone remained switched off. The family has appealed to the public for any information that could assist in locating him. The police are investigating the case and seeking leads to trace Sumit’s whereabouts.
