Maoists attack CRPF camp in Bijapur, security launch massive counteroffensive

Bijapur: An encounter is underway between Maoists and security forces at Jhidpally village under Pamed police station area. As per initial reports a large group of Maoists attacked a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp leading to intense cross-firing last night.

A video of the encounter shows security forces retaliating Maoists with heavy firing at the camp which was set up in the Jhidpally village three days ago.

Reports say that at least two CRPF jawans have suffered injuries, while Maoists are said to have suffered massive damages in the counterattack, although there is no official word about it.
