Production Can’t Keep Up
Here’s where things get tricky. Mahindra’s production capacity for the Thar Roxx is 6,500 units per month. Doing a bit of math (and trust me, I’m not a numbers person), it would take them about 27 months and 3 days to fulfill just those initial bookings. No wonder folks are being told they’ll get their SUVs in 2026.

All Variants Affected Equally
What’s interesting is that both the base model (MX1) and the top-end variant (AX7L) are seeing similar waiting times. Usually, carmakers prioritize the higher-end models to maximize profits. But this time, even those shelling out more are in the same boat.
YouTuber Arun Panwar also posted a video showing his booking for the base model, and yep, delivery is expected in 2026. Over on the CarsIndia subreddit, people are buzzing (or maybe fuming) about the long wait. Some even joked that by the time they get their Thar Roxx, there might be a newer model out!
Thar Roxx with Mocha Interior
On a slightly different note, Mahindra listened to feedback about the Thar Roxx’s interiors. Many fans weren’t thrilled about the white interiors in an off-road vehicle—impractical, right? So, they’ve introduced a new mocha-colored interior option. But here’s the catch: this variant will only be available starting January 2025. So, if you’re thinking of switching your booking to get the darker interiors, that might add even more to your wait time.
