Police teams rushed to the spot soon after receiving information regarding the clash and brought the situation under control. No casualties or severe injuries were reported.

Investigations underway

The police officials confirmed that an investigation is underway and CCTV footage from the area is being closely examined to identify those who were involved in the clashes. Efforts are being made to track down and detain the accused, they added.

As of now, a tense calm prevails in the area. This outbreak has left the local residents in shock and several residents fear that more such incidents might occur in future.

Earlier this year, another instance of stone pelting was reported from Maharashtra’s Nandurbar city.  In this case, clashes erupted after a rickshaw and motorcycle were involved in an accident. The incident led to clashes between two groups.
