Maharashtra cash-for-votes scam: ED raids at 13 places, Malegaon trader under scanner

ED conducts raids at Amazon, Flipkart vendors in multiple cities under FEMA

New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has conducted raids at multiple locations in Maharastra, and Gujarat in connection with the alleged cash-for-votes case ahead of Maharashtra assembly elections. The ED is conducting searches at 13 locations in including Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and in Surat. Raids were also conducted at two premises in Malegaon, Nashik, and five in Mumbai.

It is alleged that Rs 125 crores were laundered to influence voter in the upcoming Maharashtra polls. The allegations have led to the political mudslinging over attempts to influence voters using cash.

Earlier, two persons were already arrested from Malegoan in connection with the case.
