Obtained requisite sanction to prosecute all accused, CBI earlier informed court

The CBI had on January 30 informed the judge that it had obtained the requisite sanction to prosecute all the accused persons in the corruption case.

CBI last year filed before court requisite sanctions to prosecute 30 accused

The CBI filed before the court on November 26 last year the requisite sanctions obtained from authorities concerned to prosecute 30 accused persons in the corruption case and had informed the judge that the requisite sanctions to prosecute one public servant RK Mahajan was still awaited. It later informed the court that it had obtained sanction to prosecute RK Mahajan.

The CBI had earlier on September 20 last year informed the court that it had obtained the requisite sanction to prosecute former railway minister and accused Lalu Prasad Yadav in the corruption case relating to the alleged land-for-jobs scam.

What is the case?

The CBI has alleged that Lalu Prasad Yadav, during his tenure as the railway minister during the year 2004-2009, indulged in corruption for appointment of Group D substitutes in Indian Railways. The central agency has alleged that the aspirants were asked to transfer land as bribe in return for jobs in Indian Railways and no advertisement or any public notice was issued for these appointments.
