New Delhi: Dr. Nawab Mir Nasir Ali Khan, Consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Hyderabad, participated in the Astana International Forum 2025 held in Kazakhstan’s capital, Astana. Mr Khan attended the event at the invitation of Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumanqarin.
The high-profile forum, inaugurated by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, drew over 5,000 delegates from 50 countries, including more than 80 heads of state, ministers, and CEOs. Held under the theme “Connecting Minds, Shaping the Future”, the summit served as a platform for dialogue on global security, economic transformation, sustainable development, and climate action.
During his visit, Dr. Khan met with Yousuf Aljawder, Chairman of Astana International Airport, to discuss the proposed expansion of Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport and the initiation of direct flights between Hyderabad and Kazakhstan. The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral trade, tourism, and investment opportunities.
The forum highlighted a 25-year operational agreement between Astana International Airport and Terminal Holding UAE, which is investing $1.1 billion in airport infrastructure. GMR Airports, which operates Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, has also shown interest in launching direct flight services to Kazakhstan.
Dr. Khan praised the Kazakh leadership for hosting the visionary forum and reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening Indo-Kazakh relations across multiple sectors.
