The Kawasaki KLX 230 showcases a minimalist and functional design that is capable of off-road performance. With minimal body panels, the bike remains light and agile, ensuring better rideability in rugged terrains. Its tall stance is accentuated by a small LED headlight with a cowl, a high-mounted front mudguard, a compact fuel tank, and a short tail section.

An important feature is its seat height, which is 880mm high, ideal for trail riding. Kawasaki offers an optional lowered seat height variant for riders looking for more accessibility. The KLX 230 is a road-legal dual-sport motorcycle that features essential equipment like headlamps, indicators, and a fully digital LCD instrument console with smartphone connectivity, making it versatile for both urban and off-road riding.

The Kawasaki KLX 230 is powered by a 233cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine which produces a power output of 18.1 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 18.3 Nm of torque at 6,400 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox, the engine is tuned to deliver strong low- and mid-range torque, making it perfect for off-road riding while also offering smooth performance at higher speeds.

The KLX 230 is very light, just weighing 139kg, enhancing its road agility. The motorcycle is equipped with a tubular steel frame and 37mm telescopic forks with 240mm of travel at the front. At the rear, there is a preload-adjustable link-type mono-shock with 250mm of travel that ensures smooth handling over rough terrains. It stands on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels. Easy manoeuvrability on trails is ensured with a ground clearance of 265mm.

Braking is handled by a 265mm disc at the front and a 220mm disc at the rear, with switchable ABS that allows riders to deactivate the rear ABS for more control while off-roading.
