New Delhi: A threatening email targeting Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah and deputy chief minister DK Shivakumar has triggered a high-level police investigation. The email, sent by an individual identifying himself as “Sindar Rajput”, warned that both leaders would be killed and their bodies stuffed into a refrigerator and a trolley bag.
According to the contents of the email, the sender claims he had loaned Rs 1 crore to a man named Prabhakar from Rampura, which has yet to be repaid. The sender alleges that Prabhakar stored the money at his wife’s and parents’ residence. Prabhakar’s wife is identified as Nadini, and the couple reportedly has two children, with their son recently married.
FIR filed, police in action
Rajput demanded that Prabhakar be compelled to return the money immediately, warning that failure to do so would result in harm to the chief minister and deputy chief minister. The sender also claimed that since Prabhakar currently has no source of income to repay the debt, he had considered killing Prabhakar but has now shifted the threat toward the state’s top Congress leaders.
Following the threat, an FIR has been registered, and police have launched a manhunt to trace and trace the sender.
