‘Karma hit back’: Pakistani fans react after New Zealand whitewash India

New Delhi: New Zealand beat India by 25 runs in the final Test of the three-match series at the Wankhede Cricket Stadium in Mumbai and completed a 3-0 whitewash on India in India. They became the first team to whitewash the Men in Blue at home since 2000.

Team India failed to chase a 147-run target on Day 3 of the Mumbai Test. New Zealand bowlers removed India’s top order cheaply in the 7 overs. Rishabh Pant built crucial partnerships with Jadeja and Sundar to help India fight back in the match. The Indian wicketkeeper scored 64 runs off 57 balls with the help of 1 maximum and 9 boundaries.

Ajaz Patel took six wickets while Glenn Phillips also picked up three wickets on Day 3. Earlier, the Kiwi batters scored 235 runs in the first innings after captain Tom Latham opted to bat first. Will Young stitched an 87-run partnership with Daryl Mitchell. Young scored 71 runs off 138 balls and Mitchell scored 82 runs off 129 balls. Jadeja took 5 wickets and Sundar picked up 4 wickets.

New Zealand got all out for 174 runs in the second innings. Ravindra Jadeja took 5 wickets and Ashwin also picked 3 wickets. But the Indian batting order failed again and Rohit and Co. bowled out for 121 runs.
