Jodhpur: Priyanka Bishnoi, a 33-year-old civil servant, posted in Jodhpur as sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) died at a hospital in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad just two weeks after undergoing surgery at a hospital in Rajasthan. Her death triggered a massive row after family members alleged negligence by doctors.
The family is demanding police action against the Jodhpur hospital’s management while the Bishnoi community expressed outrage over the death.
Chief Minister Bhajalal Sharma today took cognisance of the matter and offered condolences, calling Bishnoi’s death “extremely sad”. In a social media post, he offered prayers for the deceased and strength for the grieving family, asking Lord Shri Ram to grant the departed soul a place at his feet.
Meanwhile, an inquiry by a five-member panel has been ordered in this connection by Jodhpur District Collector Gaurav Agrawal.
