J&K Lt Governor clears CM Omar Abdullah-led Cabinet’s resolution for statehood

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha cleared the resolution for the statehood of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, days after the same was passed by the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah-led cabinet. The resolution was passed by the cabinet on Thursday, a day after the new government was formed in the Union Territory.

Chaired by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, among all those who also attended the meeting to pass the resolution included cabinet members and senior officials of Jammu and Kashmir. National Conference (NC) Treasurer Shammi Oberoi, Political Advisor Nasir Aslam Wani, and senior NC leader Rattan Lal Gupta too attended the meeting.
