Jammu schools closed from October 29 to November 2: DSEJ

Srinagar: The Director of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) has announced the school closures for all classes upto higher secondary levels of Jammu Division for Pooja today, October 22. It has announced Jammu school holiday for a total of five days Pooja holidays from October 29 to November 2, 2024. The Jammu schools closed is applicable to all classes upto higher secondary levels (summer/ winter zones) of Jammu Division. The DSEJ has also released an official order regarding the same.

The official notice reads, “It is nearby ordered all the Educational institutions Government/ Private upto Higher Secondary levels (Summer/ Winter zones) of Jammu Divison shall observe five (5) days Pooja Holidays w.e.f October 29 to November 2, 2024.”

Jammu schools closed for five days

The DSEJ has issued the school closure order to all schools including private in the region. The five working days holiday is much needed for students and staff members to participate and enjoy during the festival period. since November 3 is a Sunday (holiday), the sources suggest that all the educational institutions will reopen on November 4. However, the DSEJ has not specified anything regarding the reopening of schools.

Parents and students are suggested to keep checking the DSEJ’s official website for latest updates regarding the school holidays and reopening. It is also advised to keep in touch with respective school authorities regarding the reopening.

Many states in the country have already declared holidays in view of Diwali. The major states that have declared holidays for Diwali are Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Maharashtra, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi and Madhya Pradesh.
