Srinagar: A soldier was killed and eight others injured after the car they were travelling in plunged into a deep gorge in DH Pora town of Kulgam district in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, police said.
The accident took place in the morning when the vehicle was ferrying nine Army personnel. At a sharp turn on the road, the car skidded off the road and rolled down into the gorge.
The army jawans suffered injuries in the mishap and were rushed to a hospital where one of them succumbed. Other jawans are receiving medical treatment.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and an investigation is underway.
