‘It symbolises renewal and hope’: PM Modi attends Lohri celebrations in Delhi

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi went to Naraina village in Delhi to participate in Lohri celebrations. The Prime Minister lit the holy fire of Lohri. Besides this, PM Modi will also interacted with the people living in Naraina Vihar.

Taking to X, the PM wrote: “Lohri has a special significance for several people, particularly those from Northern India. It symbolises renewal and hope. It is also linked with agriculture and our hardworking farmers. This evening, I had the opportunity to mark Lohri at a programme in Naraina in Delhi. People from different walks of life, particularly youngsters and women, took part in the celebrations. Wishing everyone a happy Lohri!”

PM Modi wishes people on Sankranti, Pongal

Earlier, the PM attended the Sankranti and Pongal celebrations held at the residence of Union Minister G Kishan Reddy Garu.

Posting on X, he wrote: “I participated in the Sankranti and Pongal celebrations at the residence of my cabinet colleague Shri G Kishan Reddy and also witnessed a grand cultural programme. People across India celebrate the festivals of Sankranti and Pongal with great enthusiasm.

In the post, he added: “It is a celebration of gratitude, prosperity, and renewal that is deeply rooted in the agricultural traditions of our culture. Happy Sankranti and Pongal to everyone. Wishing everyone a happy, healthy and bountiful harvest season.”
