New Delhi: India’s defense exports have surged massively from Rs 686 crore in 2013-14 to Rs 23,622 crore in 2024-25, the Ministry of Defence said on Tuesday. It added that the private sector exports in 2024-25 were Rs 15,233 crore, and the DPSUs exports were Rs 8,389 crore.
Sharing a message on X, the ministry said that even as India’s export authorisations increased by 16.92%, exporters increased by 17.4%. “India Defence Exports surged from Rs 686 crore in 2013-14 to Rs 23,622 crore in 2024-25, a 34-fold increase,” the ministry said further.

It added, “In 2024-25, private sector exports were Rs 15,233 crore, and DPSUs Rs 8,389 crore, with DPSU exports growing 42.85%. Export authorisations rose by 16.92%, and exporters increased by 17.4%. India exports to around 80 countries, aiming for Rs 50,000 crore in exports by 2029, strengthening its global defence manufacturing footprint.”
It may be noted that India’s defence exports increased to a record high of Rs 23,622 crore in 2024-25. With this, the country registered 12.04 per cent growth over the previous fiscal, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said.
Also, the DPSUs showed a massive surge of 42.85 percent in their exports in 2024-25, as per an official readout. It further said that the increase in exports reflected growing acceptability of Indian products across the globe and the ability defence sector y to be a part of the supply chain worldwide.
